Heading to Base Camp

They left high camp this morning on another stormy day. They'll take the next day or two to descend the mountain, it doesn't take long and climbers are pretty motivated to get back to showers and a beer.

We probably won't hear from these guys again until they reach base camp, which could be as soon as tomorrow.

  1. Well Mel, I hope no news is good news. Hope the feet have warmed up and no real damage from the frost. Would have been nice for you and Mike to shoot for the top. Everyone is concerned about your feet and more especially your spirit. Hope to hear from you soon. Love You! The Dad.

For the rest of the team congratulations tough job well done.

  2. I agree with Mel's Dad...warm feet are better than a cold summit! Know Mel and Mike are disappointed to have not been with their team at the top. Parents are always proud when their kids make good decisions. We are proud of both Mel and Mike for their wisdom to the make the better choice. Talking with you soon, Mike... Love, Mom and Dad
